We thought we had our travel routine figured out—until Budapest reminded us that sustainable travel isn't about seeing more. It's about knowing when to slow down. Here's why thermal baths, fewer plans, and a little breathing room changed the way we'll travel from now on.

Zeke and Terri have discovered their love of all things sauna, thermal baths, hammams, and cold plunges and now plan trips around not just museums and parks, but water experiences, too.

While in Lyon, France in October 2025, Zeke made arrangements for us to go to a hammam for a couples experience. Terri was nervous about the experience but ultimately enjoyed it so much, she would go back again in a heartbeat. Zeke wants our next experience to be in Morocco!

Zeke and Terri share their autumn date in Vienne, France as they enjoyed the multiple layers of history from Gallo-Roman times to the present. Vienne is one of those sleepy little villages many people pass by without knowing that there are incredible ruins to be seen and enjoyed.
